Adrenal fatigue and low thyroid function can create a vicious cycle. When your adrenals are stressed and fatigued, they struggle to produce enough cortisol, a key stress hormone. This can lead to a domino effect. Reduced cortisol can interfere with the conversion of inactive T4 to the active T3 hormone, essentially leaving your body with less usable thyroid hormone even if TSH levels are normal. Additionally, low cortisol can further stress the body, worsening inflammation and creating a more difficult environment for optimal thyroid function.
